The Effects of Pelvic Movement on the Gross Motor Function in Cerebral Palsy Children with Spastic Diplegia £­A Case Report £­

Abstract
Purpose : The purpose of this study was to find the effect of pelvic movement on the gross motor function in cerebral
palsy children with spastic diplegia.

Methods : The subject of this study was 1 patients cerebral palsy with spastic diplegia who have been treated in Seoul Metropolitan Children¡¯s Hospital. Evaluation tool were used GMFM test and compared excel average. For the ten week the subjects were treated 30 minutes per session, two times per week.

Results : The result of the GMFM before the training showed 58.2% but that of the GMFM after the training increased 76.6%. item of all, it showed the big difference in the B sitting 5%, C crawling & kneeling 38.31%, D standing 28.2%, E walking running & jumping 20.8% item.

Conclusions : From these result, a pelvic movement training enhanced gross motor function to the cerebral palsy children with spastic dipegia. Therefore, further research is needed to investigate about a pattern movement training related to the increase in the gross motor function.
